Job summary

Penske Logistics seeks an operations supervisor to lead hourly associates, oversee driver deliveries, loading/unloading of trailers, cross docking and customer service aligned with cost objectives. This role directly supervises processes, schedules workforce and equipment, and participates in hiring decisions and client meetings as needed.

Shifts are Monday–Friday, 8:00 pm–6:00 am with flexibility during peak seasons.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years related functional experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Strong written/oral communication and organizational skills.
• Advanced computer skills including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.

Responsibilities

• Communicate performance standards that are specific and measurable; interview hourly associates and provide recommendations for hire; monitor attendance, productivity, and other performance markers and provide counseling and/or recognition.
• Supervise logistics operations including customer service, freight loading/unloading, dispatch and documentation control; evaluate changes to increase productivity; assist in new associate training; maintain site operating systems for compliance.
• Review in coordination with site needs truck runs based on accounts, volume, costs, and private fleet utilization; ensure records and reports are completed timely and accurately.
• Ensure day-to-day safety and alignment with location safety strategy; train, provide feedback, and guide associates to safe performance; comply with policies and regulatory requirements.
• Understand customer goals and ensure Penske is delivering on commitments; identify areas for Continuous Improvement.
