Job summary

The University of Florida’s Marston Science Library seeks an overnight Library Assistant 3 to support 24-hour access services, supervise student staff, and assist patrons with circulation and technology.

This role requires a high school diploma with library experience or an associate’s degree with a year of relevant work; shifts include overnight/night hours and benefits are included.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with 3 years library experience, or an Associate’s degree with 1 year experience.
• Two paths to qualification: HS diploma with 3 years library experience or Associate’s degree with 1 year experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the service desk and supervise overnight OPS and student staff.
• Assist patrons with library services, circulation functions, and technology.
• Coordinate shift changes and monitor building security during overnight hours.
• Provide reference assistance, Interlibrary Loan inquiries, and technology support.
• Train and coach staff on policies and procedures and building operations.
