Job summary

Texas A&M University Libraries seek a Library Specialist I to work evening through overnight shifts in College Station. You will staff the Annex and Evans Service Desks, help patrons access resources, and assist with materials handling.

The role requires a high school diploma and at least one year of related experience; evening hours and occasional schedule changes are expected. Compensation aligns with a competitive library support wage.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of related library, customer service or office experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic front desk coverage during late evening and overnight hours at Annex and Evans Library Service desks.
• Assist visitors with accessing resources and directing them to services.
• Charge/discharge materials using library systems and supervise re-shelving for timely return of items.
• Monitor building safety, respond to disruptions, and enforce guidelines.
• Support PM desk duties and assign tasks to student staff as needed.
• Provide desk backup across campus and assist during extended hours or emergencies.
