Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC in Starbase, Texas, is seeking a Lead Structural Welder for the night shift to weld piping and structural steel and to lead a welding team at the launch site.

You will mentor teammates, coordinate with flight control and engineering, review drawings, plan operations, and ensure safety and quality while meeting tight deadlines.

This position requires working at heights and in variable outdoor conditions with rigorous adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• 5+ years of structural welding experience.
• 5+ years of metal fabrication experience.
• 3+ years leading small weld teams.
• 3+ years of pipe welding experience.
• 1+ years experience at a launch, test, or production site.
• Knowledge of welding techniques and metallurgy.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the welding team daily.
• Orient new team members and assign tasks.
• Coach and train team members.
• Report status to leadership and customers.
• Ensure safe, quality welding to schedule.
• Coordinate with flight control, fabrication, and engineering.
• Review drawings and determine weld procedures.
• Maintain licenses and certifications as required.
• Improve processes to reduce turnaround times.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
