Job summary

UH Truman Medical Center is seeking a Senior Environmental Services Technician to lead a housekeeping shift on the 10:30 PM–7:00 AM shift. You will guide the crew, mentor new members, and ensure tasks meet hospital-grade standards while prioritizing safety and infection control.

Ideal candidates bring at least 1 year of housekeeping experience, strong leadership, and excellent communication. This role offers a night schedule and active, team-focused work in a healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of housekeeping experience, healthcare setting preferred.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely and effectively.
• Strong leadership and teamwork skills.
• Clear communication in English (reading & writing).
• Ability to lift and carry 50+ lbs and stay active through a full shift.

Responsibilities

• Be the point person on your shift, directing the housekeeping crew with positive energy.
• Train and mentor new team members to raise performance.
• Ensure cleaning tasks are completed to hospital-grade standards on time.
• Maintain safety, infection control, and overall cleanliness throughout the shift.
• Jump in to assist with cleaning duties when needed and model hands-on leadership.
• Communicate with staff, patients, and visitors in a professional, respectful manner.
• Master cleaning gear including vacuums, floor machines, and polishers.
• Read and follow cleaning product labels and safety instructions.
