Job summary

University Health Truman Medical Centers is seeking an Environmental Services Shift Manager to lead a dedicated cleaning team on the 10:30PM–7:00AM shift. You will plan schedules, supervise operations, and ensure a spotless, safe hospital environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

Strong leadership and communication are essential to drive performance and morale. Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of team leadership in a fast-paced setting, plus an associate degree or equivalent experience.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or 3–5 years of experience leading a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven leadership and people-management abilities in a hospital or similar setting.
• Strong communication, planning and organizational skills for shifting schedules.

Responsibilities

• Lead and guide the cleaning team to keep hospital space sparkling, orderly and welcoming.
• Plan daily and weekly work schedules to cover cleaning needs efficiently.
• Supervise and motivate staff, providing support to help them perform at their best.
• Recruit and train team members in collaboration with training coordinators.
• Coach, mentor and develop staff while promoting a positive work culture.
• Develop and enforce policies to keep the department running smoothly.
• Troubleshoot issues, coordinate with operations to resolve problems quickly.
