Job summary

United Alloy, located in Janesville, WI, seeks an experienced CNC laser operator to join our on-site night shift team. You will load CAD data, set machine parameters, and ensure precise cutting and engraving on metal parts.

Qualifications

• Two+ years operating CO2 or fiber CNC laser-cutting machines.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Understanding of CNC processes helpful.

Responsibilities

• Align and secure materials on the laser cutting table.
• Load and interpret CAD files into the machine’s control interface.
• Adjust machine settings based on material type and thickness.
• Operate the laser to cut or engrave per design with accuracy.
• Inspect components to verify dimensions meet specifications.
• Maintain consistent product quality with adjustments.
• Perform daily checks on laser cutter operation.
• Clean lens and nozzle to prevent obstructions.
• Schedule routine maintenance (lens replacement, alignment).
• Ensure safety enclosure is intact and functional.
• Monitor fume extraction for proper ventilation.
• Track material usage to minimize waste.
• Document maintenance and any downtimes.
• Troubleshoot minor machine issues.
• Adjust parameters based on material properties.
• Follow safety policies and be willing to train others.
