TriCore Reference Laboratories at Rust Hospital is seeking a Laboratory Scientist to perform waived, moderate, or high complexity tests under CLIA regulations. The role includes equipment maintenance, QC/QA oversight, and potential POCT responsibilities, with on-call hours and rotating holidays as needed.

The position requires meeting CLIA education pathways and may involve training new staff, preparing specimens for analysis, and collaborating with supervisors and pathologists.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in biological, or chemical science from an accredited institution.
• Associate’s degree in laboratory science (biology or chemistry) or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.
• Education and training equivalent to an associate degree in a laboratory science, or medical laboratory technology, including required science courses.
• Two years’ direct clinical laboratory experience OR equivalent CLIA qualification pathways (see details).

Aufgaben

• Performs waived, moderate or high complexity laboratory testing.
• Operates laboratory equipment and conducts basic maintenance.
• Runs quality control testing and documents results.
• Monitors QC for trends and takes corrective action as needed.
• Troubleshoots testing issues and follows defined guidelines.
• Participates in regulatory inspections.
• Takes inventory and orders supplies as directed.
• Assists with training of new staff or students.
• Liaises with internal and external customers.
• May oversee POCT testing processes and IT connectivity issues.
• Collects specimens (blood, urine, sputum, etc.) for analysis.

Ausbildung

Bachelor's degree in biological or chemical science

Associate's degree in laboratory science (biology or chemistry) or medical laboratory technology

Education equivalent to an associate degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology

ASCP/AMT certification preferred or equivalent (LS IV)
