Job summary

Henry Ford Health in Michigan seeks a Surgical Technologist in Labor and Delivery to join our perioperative team. You will support nurses and physicians, prepare operating rooms, and assist with procedures while ensuring safety and sterile technique in a fast-paced obstetric environment.

Schedule is 36 hours per week with a midnight shift, rotating weekends and holidays. A $7,500 sign-on bonus is offered, along with opportunities for growth within a leading academic medical center.

Qualifications

• BLS certification (AHA) within 6 months of hire date.
• Completion of scrub technician program or 2+ years as Surgical Technician, or 1 year as Certified Surgical Technician.
• NBSTSA credential is preferred (Surgical Assistant).

Responsibilities

• Comply with standards, safety and infection control in a clean operating environment.
• Set up ORs with instruments and supplies per surgeon preferences and assist with procedures.
• Clean, decontaminate, wrap and sterilize equipment; perform preps in nursing units as needed.
• Assist in patient transport and support scrub/circulating nurse.
• Maintain inventory and transport specimens to the lab for analysis.
