Job summary

Henry Ford Health is seeking a Surgical Technician to assist the operating room team during general to moderately complex procedures. You will handle instruments, supplies, and equipment, and support patient preparation and transport to ensure safety and comfort.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, and graduation from a Surgical Technology program or six months of military patient care training. Current BLS is required or obtainable within one month.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of Surgical Technology program or six months military patient care training required.
• Knowledge of OR procedures and assisting surgeons in the OR.
• Current BLS certification required or obtain within 1 month of start date.
• Surgical Technologist certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Handle surgical instruments, supplies and equipment during general to moderately complex procedures.
• Anticipate needs of the surgeon and surgical team; assist with patient preparation and transport.
• Provide service support for patient safety and comfort; respond to emergent situations as per procedures.
