Job summary

The position requires an RN license in Texas (or valid compact license), CPR certification, and ACLS/ALS on hire, with 2 years L&D experience or a residency/fellowship path.

Qualifications

• Must have RN license or valid temporary permit with the Texas Board of Nursing; or, valid Compact RN license.
• Current healthcare provider CPR from AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network.
• ALS or ACLS certification on hire/placement in role.
• Two years Labor & Delivery experience OR L&D residency/fellowship with one year of L&D experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as patient advocate, focusing on patient needs, rights, confidentiality and cultural preferences.
• Maintain compliance with applicable laws, policies, and accreditation requirements.
• Perform patient assessments, recognize condition changes, and implement timely interventions.
• Assist during labor, vaginal or cesarean delivery and immediate postpartum, including neonatal care.
• Document accurately in patient care records and support handoffs between staff.
