Job summary
RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in New Jersey. The RN will monitor mother and baby, provide coaching during labor, administer medications, and support physicians throughout the delivery process.
This role emphasizes patient safety, teamwork, and evidence-based practice in a fast-paced obstetric setting. Candidates must hold an active New Jersey RN license, BLS, and prefer ACLS/NRP; two years L&D experience and EPIC EMR familiarity are
Qualifications
- Active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing.
- Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing strongly preferred.
- ACLS, NRP, and Intermediate EFM certifications are preferred.
- Two years of recent Labor & Delivery experience recommended.
- Comfort with EPIC EMR system.
Responsibilities
- Prepare women and families for stages of birth.
- Monitor fetal heart rate and maternal vitals; assist with meds and epidurals.
- Administer intrapartum medications safely.
- Perform bedside urine testing and infection control.
- Assist during delivery and in assiting roles for operative delivery.
- Apply thermoregulation principles for newborn care.
