Job summary

AdventHealth Shawnee Mission in Kansas is seeking a Registered Nurse for Labor and Delivery to join our Night shift team. You will provide direct patient care, assess and implement care plans, administer medications, and collaborate with the care team to ensure safe, evidence-based outcomes.

Qualified candidates hold an RN license and associates degree; a BSN is preferred. We offer a $10,000 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates, competitive pay, and a Clinical Ladder program with opportunities

Qualifications

Must be fluent in English (read, verbal and written)
EKG requirements noted in job description
Computer skills – able to navigate Windows-based programs
Team player within a unit and able to coordinate with staff
Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
Annual education and certification requirements are listed in Licenses and Certifications

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients across physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors.
Develop and implement individualized care plans; regularly evaluate and revise these plans.
Administer medications and treatments per orders and hospital protocols; monitor for adverse reactions.
Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care.
Collaborate with medical staff to coordinate patient care and ensure effective communication.
Maintain accurate documentation of patient information and care activities in the medical record.
Evaluate care plan effectiveness and adjust to improve patient outcomes.
Ensure infection control and safety standards are followed and regulatory requirements met.
Provide emotional support and therapeutic communication to patients and families.
Supervise and delegate care to healthcare team members; participate in performance improvement.
Respond to code situations promptly to stabilize patients.
