Job summary

Labcorp in RTP, NC is seeking a Technologist Trainee to grow into a clinical laboratory role. This position starts with comprehensive training and onboarding to prepare you for routine and complex testing workflows.

You will learn to determine specimen acceptability, operate instruments, and maintain quality controls while supporting a safe, efficient lab environment. The role follows a Monday–Friday night shift schedule, offering hands-on experience in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology.
• New grads welcome; full training provided.
• ASCP or AMT certification preferred.
• Non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits may meet education requirements.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
• Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care
• Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment
