Job summary

Avera Marshall Hospital is seeking a laboratory support professional to organize specimen collection requests, perform patient specimen collection procedures, transport and process specimens, and support pre-analytic testing workflows.

The role involves coordinating with the clinical team, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring timely specimen handling on the night shift at our Marshall, MN location.

Qualifications

• Required: ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, and distinguish speech.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Collects blood and other specimens from patients according to standards.
• Labels, transports or stores specimens accurately.
• Performs specimen processing and point-of-care testing as needed.
• Completes patient registration and data entry for tests.
• Maintains supplies and supports regulatory record keeping.
