Job summary

Avera Sacred Heart Hospital is seeking a qualified Medical Laboratory Technician to organize specimen collection requests, perform collection procedures, transport and process specimens, and support point-of-care testing in a busy clinical lab.

You will verify patient data, enter test orders into the LIS, resolve routine order issues, maintain supplies, and uphold safety, confidentiality and Lean principles while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Organizes specimen collection requests.
• Performs specimen collection procedures.
• Supports specimen transport, processing and pre-analytic tasks.

Responsibilities

• Verifies patient data and test orders.
• Enters orders in LIS and resolves routine issues.
• Maintains supplies and ensures safety and confidentiality.
• Assists with point-of-care testing as needed.
