Job summary

University of Vermont Medical Center in Middlebury, VT is hiring a Lab Assistant for night shifts (7:00 PM–7:30 AM), 36 hours weekly. The role covers lab customer service, phlebotomy, order entry and specimen processing, with duties to ship samples to Reference Labs.

Requirements include high school diploma or equivalent; phlebotomy certification is highly recommended; strong English literacy, basic computer entry skills and good interpersonal communication are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Phlebotomy certification strongly preferred; experience a plus.
• Good interpersonal communication and computer entry skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional lab customer service to all stakeholders.
• Perform phlebotomy and collect specimens for testing.
• Enter orders and handle patient information and test results accurately.
• Process specimens and ship to reference laboratories per policy.
