Job summary

UNC Health Johnston in Smithfield, NC is seeking a full-time Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse to join a Level II unit serving normal and high-risk laboring patients. You will provide competent nursing care, coordinate patient plans using the nursing process, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in a 36-hour weekly schedule, with night shifts and on-site work.

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
• One year of nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards.
• Coordinates and delivers patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting.
• Identifies expected patient outcomes and participates in interdisciplinary evaluation of care.
• Develops goals to promote professional growth and collaborates with the team to achieve unit objectives.
• Performs bedside point of care testing as required for patient care plan.
• Organizes and prioritizes care according to patient/family needs and discharges planning.
