Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company in Port Arthur, TX is seeking an experienced pipe welder to plan, lay-out, weld, install and test tubular products per plans and codes. You will coordinate with field crews, set up welds with precision, and perform repairs while adhering to safety and production standards.

Responsibilities include laying out pipes, assisting with pre-fabrication, rigging, and using tools like air arc gougers and grinders.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with prior field experience.
• Strong knowledge and abilities for the position.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions.
• Proficient in safe and efficient use of electrical and hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Plan, diagram and lay-out pipe welder work.
• Coordinate with field labor for efficient installations.
• Position weld setup and perform precise welds independently.
• Lay-out and assemble pipes per standards and specs.
• Make welding repairs and correct substandard welds.
• Assist with pre-fabrication layout or installation coordination.
• Assist with rigging of material.
• Operate air arc gouger, grinder and other tools.
• Estimate sizes, distances, quantities, time and materials needed.
• Inspect workers' output for contract compliance and correct deficiencies.
