Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with welding experience.
• Ability to read and follow plans, diagrams and specifications.
• Proficient in safe use of electrical and hand tools and layout equipment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, diagram and lay-out pipe welder's work.
• Coordinate with field crew for installations.
• Position weld setup, fit piping and perform high-precision welds independently.
• Lay-out and assemble pipes per standards and specs.
• Make welding repairs and correct substandard welds.
• Assist with pre-fabrication layout, installation, and rigging as needed.
• Operate air arc gouger, grinder and stress-relieving equipment.
• Estimate sizes, distances, quantities, and resources required for tasks.
• Inspect workers' output for contract compliance and quality.
