Job summary

Greenman-Pedersen, Inc. (GPI) seeks an ITS Field Operations Technician to support the JTMC and NYSDOT efforts across the NYC metro area.

The role focuses on monitoring ITS assets, reliable field performance, and incident verification to ensure traveler information and traffic management systems run smoothly. The position requires night shifts (10 PM–6 AM), field inspections, and close collaboration with agency staff.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computer-based applications.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Monitor ITS equipment and infrastructure across the NYC metro area.
• Conduct field inspections and verify VMS readability and illumination.
• Identify deficiencies and report findings to leadership.
• Prepare monthly inspection reports and maintain asset inventories.
• Assist NYSDOT/JTMC staff with field investigations and surveys.
• Travel throughout the NYC metropolitan region to support operations.
