Job summary

Randstad USA is seeking an Injection Molding Maintenance Technician III to support overnight operations in Hanover Park, IL. The role focuses on troubleshooting, repairing, and optimizing high-volume injection molding equipment and auxiliary systems in a fast-paced plastics environment.

Ideal candidates have 5–8+ years of electro-mechanical maintenance experience, working with 480V AC and servo systems, and strong documentation skills.

Qualifications

• 5-8+ years of electro-mechanical troubleshooting in a manufacturing setting.
• Injection molding experience preferred (plastics industry).
• Proficient in troubleshooting up to 480V AC, IO-level diagnostics, and servo positioning theory.
• Solid understanding of pneumatic, hydraulic, and automation systems.
• Strong documentation skills and use of maintenance tracking software.
• Associates degree in electronics or technical discipline preferred.
• Basic PC knowledge (Excel, Outlook, maintenance systems).
• Must be able to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and geometric figures.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot non-functioning electro-mechanical systems, including robotics, automation, and molding machines.
• Perform complex mechanical repairs, adjustments, and rebuilds to maintain uptime.
• Dismantle and reassemble equipment using blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Perform and document scheduled preventive maintenance routines.
• Calibrate equipment using specialized testing tools.
• Support machine changeovers and optimize molding parameters for efficiency and quality.
• Maintain equipment data for root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
• Coordinate with suppliers or internal teams to source equipment parts or upgrades.
• Ensure compliance with electrical and arc flash safety protocols.
• Follow all company safety procedures, including Lock-Out/Tag-Out, PPE usage, and GMPs.
• May assist in training junior techs or operators on equipment use.
• Participate in on-call rotation or overtime as required.
