Job summary

Farmer Focus is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician for the Acorn Plant on-site. This full-time, third-shift role involves daily maintenance, preventive maintenance, repairs, and installations to keep poultry processing equipment safe, efficient, and reliable.

The ideal candidate has strong mechanical and electrical skills, experience in maintenance within a processing environment, and the ability to work independently, with emergency call responsiveness required.

Qualifications

• Proven industrial, manufacturing maintenance, or electrical experience required.
• Knowledge and understanding of good safety practices.
• Strong mechanical, electrical, troubleshooting, and repair skills.
• Proficiency in using common hand tools, power tools, precision instruments, and electrical and electronic testing devices.
• Maintenance tasks for machinery, motors, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, and sheet metal fabrication.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to organize tasks and monitor quality of work.
• Ability to work with or near animal blood.
• Ability to work in all poultry processing areas including cold, damp and changing conditions.
• Must read, write, and understand English.
• Must be self-motivated and work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to respond to emergency call-ins within 30 minutes.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment to support operations.
• Repair, install, adjust, and maintain machinery and equipment in the processing plant.
• Disassemble and replace parts; inspect for defects and wear.
• Clean, lubricate, and reassemble equipment after maintenance.
• Respond to emergency maintenance needs and near-30-minute call-ins.
