Job summary

Nestlé Purina's Batavia, Ohio facility is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform proactive and reactive maintenance on industrial mechanical and electrical systems. You will troubleshoot, repair and optimize production equipment, coordinating with teams to ensure safe and efficient operations.

The role starts Monday–Friday 8 am–4 pm, then moves to 4, 10-hour days during training and shifts to nights 6 pm–6 am on a 2-2-3 cycle after 12 weeks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of complex mechanical equipment in a manufacturing, industrial, warehouse, military or related environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with team members to maintain equipment and solve technical problems
• Model safety and share mechanical and electrical expertise to train other team members and champion a safety-first work environment
• Execute Planned Maintenance (PM) activities to proactively prevent failures and promote safe and efficient operations
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems and equipment including motors, conveyors, bearings, gears, sprockets, valves, hydraulics, pneumatics and automation systems
• Work to reduce unplanned stoppages through effective root cause analysis
• Utilize mechanical and electrical tools, diagnostic instruments (meters), mechanical diagrams and schematics, CMMS and other digital tools to work safely and efficiently
• Perform basic rigging, mechanical practicesand welding skills in an industrial environment
