Job summary

Nestlé Purina is hiring a Utilities Maintenance Technician in Batavia, OH, just 30 miles east of Cincinnati, to perform proactive and reactive maintenance on mechanical utilities systems critical to manufacturing operations.

You will start Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–4 p.m., then move to 4x10s, and finally nights 6 p.m.–6 a.m. on a 2-2-3 schedule after 12 weeks of training. Compensation includes $37.50/hr with progression up to $41.78/hr plus bonuses and benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of mechanical utilities systems and equipment in a manufacturing, industrial, military or related environment.
• Possession of a current High Pressure Boiler Operator License or Stationary Engineer License from the state of Ohio.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and optimize utilities systems and related mechanical and electrical equipment and components.
• Monitor, maintain and repair compressors, boilers, chillers, cooling towers, wastewater treatment, domestic water, hot water, refrigeration and fire systems.
• Execute preventative maintenance activities to proactively prevent failures and promote safe and efficient operations.
• Utilize diagrams and schematics, CMMS, mechanical and electrical tools, and diagnostic instruments (e.g., vibration, thermal imaging, acoustics) to reduce unplanned stoppages via root cause analysis and corrective action.
• Collaborate with team members to maintain equipment and solve technical problems.
• Perform rigging, mechanical practices, pipefitting and welding skills in an industrial environment.
• Model safety and share utilities expertise to train other team members.
