Smurfit Westrock plc in Richmond, VA is hiring an Industrial Maintenance Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and mechanical equipment at our corrugated packaging plant. You will support PMs, safety compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives to keep production running smoothly.

The role requires 3–5 years of experience, 480V three-phase systems, and PLC/VFD proficiency. We offer competitive pay up to $38.68 per hour and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience as a Maintenance Technician.
• Experience with 480V three‑phase systems and various control voltages.
• Proficiency with electrical test equipment (multimeters, ammeters, megohmmeters).
• Strong knowledge of electrical schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.
• Experience programming PLCs and VFDs.

Responsabilités

• Maintain equipment through preventive maintenance and troubleshoot mechanical/electrical failures.
• Enforce plant safety regulations and promote safety awareness.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on electrical equipment (motors, MCCs, transformers).
• Diagnose and repair faults in corrugators, presses, die cutters, and handling systems.
• Troubleshoot and maintain PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens) and HMIs.
• Install, maintain, and calibrate sensors and measuring instruments.
• Ensure installations comply with NEC and local codes.
• Maintain records of maintenance work and parts used.
• Assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment.
• Collaborate with other technicians to resolve issues.
• Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Provide support for mechanical tasks to ensure uptime.
