Job summary
Smurfit Westrock in Richmond, VA is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and mechanical equipment at our corrugated packaging plant. The role requires hands-on work with large-scale production machinery, preventive maintenance, and adherence to safety standards.
Expect to work 7a-7p shifts, diagnose PLCs and HMIs, install sensors, and collaborate with other technicians to improve reliability.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience as a Maintenance Technician in manufacturing.
- Experience with 480V three-phase systems and control voltages.
- Proficiency with electrical test equipment (multimeters, ammeters, megohmmeters).
- High school diploma; electrical license or equivalent certification valued.
Responsibilities
- Maintain equipment through preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults on large production machinery.
- Troubleshoot and maintain PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens) and HMIs.
- Ensure NEC compliance and strict Lockout/Tagout procedures.
- Document maintenance work and parts used.
