Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking an experienced Industrial Electrician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and mechanical equipment in our Springfield, MA corrugated packaging plant. The role requires hands-on expertise with large-scale production machinery and compliance with safety standards.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, PLC/HMI troubleshooting, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; technical certification is a plus.
• 3–5 years of Industrial Electrician experience in manufacturing.
• Experience with 480V three-phase systems and control voltages.
• Proficiency with electrical test equipment and wiring diagrams.
• Massachusetts Electrical license or equivalent certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and mechanical industrial equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens) and HMIs.
• Perform preventive maintenance on motors, MCCs, transformers, and wiring.
• Enforce plant safety regulations and Lockout/Tagout procedures.
• Assist with installation and commissioning of new production equipment.
