Job summary

Gulf Island is seeking an Assembly Technician to assemble and install panels, measure and fit insulation, and ensure all components are correctly secured. The role involves working with Rockwool, Bat insulation, perforated sheet metal, and plastic, alongside a team following prints and assembly instructions.

Applicants should have 1+ years in construction or related fields, be comfortable with power tools, and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Qualifications

• 1+ years experience in construction, drywall or framing with a basic understanding of prints
• Familiarity with clamps, impact drivers, and drills
• Familiarity with perforated sheet metal and the use of hardware in assembly
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and physical
• Must be able to pass a background check

Responsibilities

• Assemble and install panels, ensuring proper alignment and secure attachment
• Measure, cut and install Rockwool insulation into panels
• Perform Bat installation (pink insulation) to specified requirements
• Use clamps, impact drivers and drills to fasten hardware
• Drape plastic to protect components or areas during installation
• Work with perforated sheet metal and ensure accurate installation and finishing
• Collaborate with a team to complete tasks on time and to quality standards
• Interpret prints and assembly instructions to complete work accurately
• Follow safety protocols and keep a clean, organized workspace
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
