Job summary

Saint Joseph Medical Center - Joliet is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Surgical Specialty Unit. The role requires delivering safe patient care for ICU patients, following the nursing process, and directing patient/family education while preserving privacy.

The position is nights, full-time with weekend and holiday rotation. Requires active RN license, BLS/ACLS, critical care training, and ICU experience preferences.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Completion of Critical Care Course preferred.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of one year as a staff RN in acute care hospital, critical care preferred.
• Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification preferred.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation).
• Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel.
• Maintain standards of care in the ICU.
• Communicate with the physician about changes in the patient’s condition including hemodynamic monitoring and diagnostic results.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
