Job summary

James Madison University’s Facilities Management is seeking a Night Shift Housekeeping Supervisor. The shift is Sunday - Thursday, 10:30 p.m. - 7:00 a.m., with overtime as required for events and weather.

The role oversees 10–25 staff, ensures cleaning to university standards, and handles administrative tasks like check-in sheets and requisitions. Must be able to lead, communicate clearly, and operate cleaning equipment.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, chemicals, equipment, and safety.
• Ability to lead others.
• Experience with Microsoft Office.
• Must be at least 19 years old, have a valid driver’s license for 24 months, and an acceptable motor vehicle report.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective supervision to 10–25 employees.
• Ensure proper cleaning and safety procedures are followed by all team members.
• Ensure facilities are cleaned to university standards and promote customer service and teamwork.
• Admin duties include daily check-in sheets, requisitions for supplies and equipment, distribution of work orders, and annual inventory.
• Employee will be required to work during authorized closings.
