Job summary

UnityPoint Health in Iowa is seeking a Security Officer for 6pm-6am nights with rotating weekends. You will monitor hospital premises, respond to incidents, and help develop security procedures to protect patients, staff, and visitors.

The role requires vigilance, good communication, and the ability to operate security systems. Training in de-escalation and MOAB is required or provided within 6 months.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.
• MOAB certification and de-escalation training required or obtained within 6 months.
• BCLS certification as required by MOAB policy.
• Patient restraint and security tool awareness.

Responsibilities

• Monitors the safety and security of the hospital through documented inspection tours and customer interactions.
• Performs investigations and reports safety and security violations as needed.
• Monitors hospital security systems such as cameras, panic alarms, access control, infant abduction, and wandering systems.
• Maintains a daily security log and creates incident reports when necessary.
• Conducts fire drills, responds to emergencies, secures helipad operations when required.
