Job summary

North Star Health Alliance in Carthage, NY is seeking a full-time Security Guard for the overnight shift (6:45pm–7:15am) with occasional daytime rotations on Saturdays and Sundays. The role involves patrolling buildings and grounds, ensuring doors and gates are secure, and assisting staff with unruly visitors or safety concerns.

Responsibilities include monitoring parking lots, responding to incidents, and coordinating with hospital personnel as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to speak, read and write English and follow written and oral instructions.
• On-the-job training up to 3 months to learn location of safety and plant equipment.
• Must possess a NYS unarmed security guard license or equivalent (Police/Corrections).

Responsibilities

• Periodically patrols buildings and grounds to ensure doors/windows are secure.
• Confronts unauthorized persons, routes or detains, or calls police as needed.
• Escort staff and visitors; assist with safety and environmental conditions.
