Job summary

Norwalk Hospital Association is seeking a Security Officer for an overnight, full-time shift (Monday–Friday, 10:00pm–6:00am) to protect patients, staff, and visitors. Responsibilities include responding to codes, patrolling facilities, and ensuring a safe environment across the Norwalk hospital campus.

Candidates should have or be pursuing CT Security Officer licensure; several security-related certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

CT Security Officer license preferred.
Preferred training/certification in related security fields such as OC Spray, Baton, Taser, Handcuff, tactical driving, etc.
Preferred training/certifications with Safety/Security organizations including OSHA, NFPA, FEMA, IAHSS, IFPO, ASIS.

Responsibilities

Deter crime, provide order, and control patient and visitor behavior while maintaining high customer service.
Detect suspicious activity and assess safety of hospital property through rounds and patrols.
Respond to incidents or service requests; assist as needed, including patient valuables, morgue admissions/releases, lock-up, escorting law enforcement, and meal breaks coverage.
