Job summary

UW Medical Center-Northwest is seeking a Hospital Security Officer to protect patients, visitors and staff across a 44-acre campus in North Seattle. This 100% FTE position offers variable shifts and night coverage with a focus on de-escalation, incident reporting and providing a safe environment.

Responsibilities include patrols, safety escorts, responding to calls for assistance and detaining when instructed by authorities.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license.
• No previous felony convictions.
• Two years college in police science or allied field OR two years of police/campus security experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain security and safety through inspection of buildings and grounds.
• Provide superior customer service to patients, staff, faculty and visitors.
• Tactfully confront individuals and de-escalate when possible to resolve issues.
• Investigate incidents and crimes and complete clear incident reports and documentation.
• Patrol and inspect interior and exterior of facility by foot or vehicle; respond to calls for assistance and code calls.
• Evict, detain or hold persons when directed by appropriate law enforcement or authorities.
