Job summary

Connecticut Children’s Security team member supports the safety and security of patients, families, staff, and visitors across all locations, reporting to the Security Leadership Team. The role emphasizes a visible presence, quick response to needs, and collaboration with clinical teams to uphold safety standards.

Responsibilities include patrols, incident reporting, patient watches support, and adherence to hospital policies.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Healthcare security operations preferred; 3–5 years could be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day security operations across assigned Connecticut Children’s locations.
• Conduct routine patrols, safety checks, and environmental rounds to identify risks.
• Maintain a visible, proactive presence to promote safety for patients, families, staff and visitors.
• Assist with metal detector screenings and other safety protocols as needed.
• Respond promptly to calls for service and emergencies with professionalism and calm.
• Prepare accurate incident reports and documentation to support investigations.
• Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure safe, patient-centered care across the organization.
