Job summary

McLaren Health Care is seeking a part-time Security Officer to respond to emergencies, patrol assigned areas, and enforce safety regulations across its facility network in Michigan. The role emphasizes customer service, incident documentation, and rapid response to calls from nursing and other departments.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid state driver’s license.
• Driving record must be within the insurer’s regulations.
• Six months of prior work experience (healthcare preferred).

Responsibilities

• Makes rounds, inside and outside assigned areas, investigating and documenting unusual or suspicious incidents.
• Provides assistance to security personnel and escorts visitors to locations.
• Observes and documents non-conformance of policies and procedures.
• Completes all required paperwork on time.
• Maintains confidentiality of all employee, patient, visitor, physician, hospital and security information.
• Responds to calls to assist in managing disorderly patients and/or visitors.
• Security Officers with CEW/TASER must complete required training.
• Follows established script when answering phone and interacting with customers.
• Participates in emergency preparedness drills and planning.
• Performs other related duties as required.
