Job summary

HonorHealth is seeking a Registration Admitting professional for night shift PRN coverage at Shea Medical Center in Scottsdale, AZ. You will admit patients by collecting information, deposits, signatures and scanning documents into the EMR, ensuring accuracy and HIPAA compliance.

You will greet patients, answer questions, verify insurance eligibility, obtain prior authorizations, and process payments at admission or discharge, while coordinating with the care team to support smooth throughput.

Qualifications

• 6 months medical office, hospital registration/business/banking/medical insurance office/customer service experience is required.
• 1 year experience at a medical office or other hospital/ nursing home facility is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Admits clients to the hospital, collecting information, deposits, signatures, and updating ADT systems.
• Greets patients and the public, providing information in a courteous and professional manner while supporting HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards.
• Processes pre-registered accounts, completes registration and admissions information with patient demographic, insurance, financial and medical details.
• Obtains required signatures on all medical, financial and compliance documents.
• Scans documents into the electronic medical/financial record, including IDs, insurance cards and directives.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and coverage and executes insurance notification procedures.
• Obtains prior authorization to avoid non-compliance, denials and penalties for patient, hospital and physicians.
• Requests and accepts payments for balances due on accounts at admission or discharge.
• Collaborates with the multi-disciplinary health care team to maximize reimbursement and patient satisfaction.
