HonorHealth's Shea Medical Center in Scottsdale seeks an Evening Shift Registration Admitting specialist to admit and register patients, collect information, verify insurance, and obtain signatures. This role supports the OB Labor and Delivery department and requires strong customer service and HIPAA awareness.

You will greet patients, complete demographic and financial information, scan documents into the EMR, and coordinate with payer processes to ensure smooth admission and accurate billing.

Qualificações

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 6 months medical office or hospital registration/business/customer service experience.
• 1 year experience at a medical office or other hospital/facility preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Greet patients and provide information while upholding HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards.
• Ensure a positive patient experience by addressing questions empathetically and professionally.
• Process pre-registered accounts and complete registration/admissions information with patient demographics, insurance, and financial data.
• Obtain signatures on medical, financial, and compliance documents.
• Prepare paperwork including patient identification band for accurate identification.
• Scan documents into the electronic medical/financial record.
• Verify insurance eligibility and coordinate with payer requirements.
• Obtain prior authorization to avoid denials and penalties.
• Notify insurers as required and check medical necessity.
• Keep supervisor informed of unique situations and problem accounts.
• Collect balances due at admission or discharge (co-pays, deductibles, coinsurance).
• Collaborate with the care team to maximize reimbursement and patient satisfaction.
• Assist in training within the department as needed.
