Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years hospital pharmacy technician experience.
• 1 year sterile compounding experience.
• Strong knowledge of metric conversions and ratio/proportions.
• Passing score of 90% on calculation, aseptic preparation, and hazardous drugs training.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and fill medications for inpatient and outpatient services.
• Replenish Pyxis machines and monitor refrigerator temperatures.
• Counts, compounds and repackages pharmaceuticals per procedures.
• Handle medication dispensing and inventory restock for departments and nursing units.
• Document waste and ensure proper billing for medications dispensed.
• Assist in obtaining physician orders and maintain clean work areas.
• Perform IV preparation using aseptic technique and transport to nursing floors.
