The role involves monitoring security and regulatory systems, handling switchboard duties, and ensuring accurate call documentation and timely action.

Responsibilities

• Maintain assigned post in hospital lobbies or switchboard offices.
• Answer and direct calls to the health system and to the hospital(s) emergency response line, send notifications, and respond to alarms and emergency response protocol as required.
• Provide monitoring and notifications related to various regulatory and security systems; including but not limited to, fire alarm, medical gas (oxygen, vacuum, and medical air), access intercom system, closed circuit television, intrusion alarms, panic/duress alarms.
• Use of switchboard equipment to best advantage to answer and process calls as efficiently as possible. Document calls by recording caller name and call back phone number accurately and completely. Follow up to ensure necessary action has been taken.
• Perform required tasks related to visitor check in processes. Complete vetting processes and issuance of identification to visitors per visitation policy and utilization of computer systems. Verify employee, vendor, and visitor badges. Assist vendors as needed.
• Monitors the overall appearance of the hospital entrance. Contacts Security, Environmental Services, or Facilities Management, for assistance when necessary. May complete unit/department specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents.
