Job summary

Akron Children’s Hospital is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for part-time, nights (7p-7a or 11p-11a) onsite. The LPN will assess patients, provide treatments per physician orders, educate patients and caregivers, and support the care team to reach optimal function.

24 hrs/week with a $5,000 sign-on bonus (taxable) is available. Required are an Ohio LPN license and CPR/BLS certification, with six months of related experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved School of Licensed Practical Nursing program is required.
• Current Ohio LPN license and CPR/BLS certification required.
• Six months experience in relevant settings preferred.
• Experience with pediatrics and developmental delays preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) required.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ physiological, cognitive/mental, developmental, emotional, and social status.
• Provide treatments and procedures based on a physician ordered plan of care.
• Provide patient and caregiver education as needed.
• Demonstrate the knowledge to care for patients of various ages; address physical, psychological, social, educational, and safety needs.
• Help patients achieve and/or maintain optimal function.
• Assist with activities of daily living to maintain hygiene and nutrition.
• Collaborate with the care team and document progress toward goals.
• Maintain a clean working/patient care environment.
• Document all treatments and patient responses.
• Report changes in patient condition to the RN/manager.
• Provide a safe environment and report safety concerns.
• Perform other duties as required.
