Job summary

CDOT in Colorado is seeking a Highway Maintenance Specialist in NW Denver, CO. The role focuses on operating heavy equipment, snow removal, maintenance of roadways, and ensuring safety for travelers.

The schedule is anticipated as Monday–Thursday nights (8:00 PM–6:30 AM) with on-call duties and possible overtime during weather events. Ideal candidates hold a Class A or B CDL and are prepared for extreme conditions up to high elevations.

Qualifications

• Must have at least two (2) years of physical labor and/or heavy equipment operation experience.
• Commitment to safety and ability to work outdoors in varying conditions.
• Demonstrated teamwork and ability to follow safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Plowing snow and operating heavy equipment.
• Maintaining roads, signs, and drainage structures.
• Filling potholes and setting traffic control devices.
• Performing minor repairs and equipment maintenance.
• Responding to emergencies and weather events, including overtime.
• Working on-site in outdoor, potentially extreme weather conditions.
