Job summary

Dartmouth Health seeks a Security Officer to patrol hospital properties, safeguard patients and staff, and respond promptly to emergencies. You will lead staff during crises, observe suspicious activity, and report incidents with accurate daily logs.

The role includes equipment checks and participation in safety drills, with collaboration on snow removal and contractor communications. The position requires an Associate’s degree or equivalent experience and 2–3 years in healthcare/security.

Responsibilities

• Conducts preventative security and safety patrols across buildings and grounds.
• Responds to emergencies, protects patients, visitors and staff, and reports incidents.
• Directs staff during crises and maintains alertness to unusual conditions.
• Inspects equipment and reports hazards; participates in safety drills.
• Assist with transportation of deceased persons and interacts with law enforcement as needed.
• Collaborates with Engineering for snow removal, landscaping, and contractor communications.
