Job summary

Hennepin Healthcare Knapp Rehab seeks a Health Care Assistant to support patient care under RN supervision, perform daily living activities, document in the EHR, and assist with unit operations in a patient-centered care environment.

The role involves measuring vital signs, assisting with specimen collection, transport, and clerical tasks while collaborating with the care team to ensure safety and comfort for patients.

Qualifications

• Current MN Nursing Assistant Registry certification required at hire.
• Completion of one semester of clinical rotation in an accredited nursing program.
• Enrollment in the Hennepin Healthcare Nursing Assistant program and successful progress.
• Minimum 6 months of acute nursing assistance experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience with EPIC or similar EHR system is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living including hygiene, grooming, and bathing.
• Respond to call lights promptly and communicate needs to the care team.
• Take and record vital signs as prescribed.
• Provide and document care under RN supervision and perform clerical duties in EHR.
• Maintain clean, stocked patient rooms and assist with transport as needed.
• Support compliance with regulatory standards and patient-centered care.
