The Gallatin Quarry in Gallatin, TN seeks a Night Shift General Underground Equipment Operator to run underground mining equipment and support blasting and ventilation tasks.

Qualifications

• Uncompromising focus on safety excellence.
• At least 1 year of proficient experience operating underground mining equipment is preferred.
• Willing to work in an underground mining environment.
• Willing to work with explosives and blasting process – TN Explosive Handlers Card or Blasting Permit or ability to obtain/renew.
• Able to operate underground mining equipment with precision in confined spaces.
• Must pass pre-employment drug-screening.

Responsibilities

• Operate a face drill and/or roof bolter in an underground hard rock mine.
• Operate a wheel loader to muck headings and load haul trucks.
• Run a scaler or excavator with scaler attachment to scale rock from mine walls.
• Work with explosives and blasting process to facilitate production.
• Perform daily inspections and document results per company policies.
• Follow OSHA / MSHA / Environmental regulations for safe procedures.

Rogers Group is currently seeking an individual to fill a NIGHT SHIFT GENERAL UNDERGROUND EQUIPMENT OPERATOR position at our Gallatin Quarry, located in Gallatin, TN. The successful candidate for this role will have experience operating mining equipment in an underground mining environment, and an uncompromising focus on safety excellence. In addition to operating equipment, this individual may be required to work with the blasting process or on the ground maintaining safety items and keeping the mine well ventilated.

Job Responsibilities

• Operating a face drill and/or roof bolter in an underground hard rock mine.
• Operating a wheel loader in a confined space to muck headings and load haul trucks.
• Running a scaler or an excavator with scaler attachment to scale rock from mine walls.
• Work with explosives and the blasting process to facilitate production.
• General work around the quarry and other assigned duties may also be required.
• Perform daily pre-and post- inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies
• Properly follow all company policies and OSHA / MSHA / Environmental regulations for safe working procedures and environment.

Qualifications

• At least one-year of proficient experience operating underground mining equipment – such as a face drill, scaler, roof bolter, or loader – is preferred.
• Willing to work in an underground mining environment.
• Willing to work with explosives and the blasting process – valid TN Explosive Handlers Card or Blasting Permit – or ability to obtain/renew those permits.
• Able to operate underground mining equipment with precision and excellence in a confined space.
• Ability to pick up on new tasks quickly.
• Flexibility to work overtime and weekends when necessary.
• Must be able to work underground and outside in all types of weather and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.
• Self-motivated - able to work without requiring close supervision.
• Must pass pre-employment drug-screening.
