Job summary

The role involves assisting customers and possibly performing hostling duties, with an emphasis on safety and accuracy. The position requires at least 18 years old, a high school diploma or equivalent, and prior warehousing experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Prior warehousing or freight handling experience preferred.
• Hostler/yard mule duties experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math; use a calculator if needed.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to lift/carry hand freight and dock equipment as required; frequent lifting.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Previous dock/warehouse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transport freight across dock area to/from trailers.
• Operate motorized/manual equipment (forklift, pallet jack, hand truck).
• Verify documentation matches freight details (type, weight, hazmat).
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps, rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when needed.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
