Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking personnel to transport freight across dock areas to and from trailers. You will operate forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck equipment to load and secure freight for outbound trailers.

The role requires verifying documentation, repairing damaged freight when needed, and assisting customers with freight paperwork. Night shifts may vary with operational needs, and safety procedures must be followed at all times.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Prior warehousing or freight handling and/or forklift experience preferred.
• Hostler/yard mule duties experience preferred.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Transport freight across dock area to/from trailers for loading to trailers.
• Operate motorized and manual equipment (forklift, pallet jack, hand truck).
• Verify freight documents match description (type, weight, hazmat).
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps, or rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight and freight documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
