Job summary

Forward Air Corp. is seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join the dock team in Windsor, CT. The role focuses on safe, accurate, and efficient loading, unloading, staging, and movement of freight within a multimodal terminal environment.

Base pay is $19.70 per hour with a Monday–Friday 5pm–11:30pm schedule. Candidates must have forklift certification and 3+ years of dock experience, with strong English communication and safety focus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid forklift certification required.
• 3+ years of dock/warehouse experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to verify freight counts, quantities, and weights.
• Able to operate pallet jacks, dollies, hand trucks, and related MHE.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight using sit-down/stand-up forklifts and MHE.
• Move, stage, sort, and position freight between dock doors and trailers.
• Pick, pack, and prepare items for shipping and delivery.
• Assist drivers with loading/unloading per safety procedures.
• Label, scan, and track freight for accuracy and documentation integrity.
• Identify damaged freight and report issues to supervision.
