Job summary

Forward Air Corp. is seeking a reliable Forklift Operator to safely load, unload, and move freight within a multimodal terminal or warehouse environment. You will perform accurate documentation and assist with dock operations under supervision as you build expertise.

Responsibilities include operating sit-down/stand-up forklifts, scanning cargo, and coordinating with drivers. The role emphasizes safety, attendance, and the ability to work a Monday–Friday day schedule.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Valid forklift certification/licensure (or ability to obtain before operating).
• 3+ years of dock or warehouse experience required.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
• Ability to recognize numbers, labels, barcodes, and freight markings accurately; perform basic arithmetic.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight using sit-down/stand-up forklifts and other MHE.
• Move, stage, sort, and position freight between dock doors, trailers, and warehouse areas.
• Pick, pack, and prepare items for shipping and delivery.
• Assist drivers with loading/unloading following safety procedures.
• Label, scan, and track freight with handheld devices to ensure accuracy.
